Reading Rock 2009

As I arrange the accommodation for Festival Republic, who are the organisers for Glastonbury and Reading/Leeds Festival, they always give me a couple of free tickets to Reading Festival. Some of you might remember how excited I was last year to go see The Killers.

This year Andy and I went of Friday 28 Aug. We were only there for Kaiser Chiefs and The Kings of Leon. Must say, KoL was very disappointing, but Kaiser Chiefs (yes - got their name from the SA Soccer Team) absolutely rocked the house!!

Bournemouth/Poole

One Sunday Andy and I drove down to Bournemouth and Poole on the south coast. It was a lovely sunny day and the beach was packed. Everyone making them most of the sun. There was an Air Show at Bournemouth, and we got to see some amazing planes fly over the beach and ocean.

Carine and Koster's visit

My good friends from university, Carine, and her husband Koster came to visit us from Dubai. We went to the Wye valley in Gloucestershire, with beautiful walks and the Wye river running past Symonds Yat. We stayed over at a B&B in the countryside on Saturday.

It was good to be with my 2 friends again.

Andy

It's been a while since I've updated my blog - sorry about that. I've been very busy since returning from America, and managed to land myself an absolute fantastic man. His name is Andy, and one day for no apparent reason I received the most amazing bunch of flowers. He scored a lot of points by doing that!! I'm sure there will still be many more posts that include him!

Chicago photos - continued

Remember I said my camera broke and I had to take some of my photos on my phone. Well, it has taken me half the night to figure out how to get these downloaded, but finally I managed.

Independance Day

We went to the Cedarburg 4th of July parade, where Cheane and Kirstyn grew up. All 11,000 people of the time come together to watch the annual parade.

Afterwards we went to some friends of Frank and Charnelle's for a braai.

Great Day!

Charnelle's 50th

On Friday 3 July we celebrated Charnelle's 50th. Frank, Charnelle, Kirstyn, Cheane and me went to dinner at Sabor. There's a salad bar which you help yourself to, and waiters walking around with skewers of meat which they carve right into your plate. Similar to The Carnivore in Jo'burg. Anything from Sirloin Steak to leg of Lamb. mmmmmm - Delicious. I overate! We celebrated over a glass of champagne.

Afterwards we went to a Piano bar in the Third Ward in downtown Milwaukee. There some friends of the family joined for drinks.
